Corporate away day ideas for every kind of agenda
Planning a company away day? We build the activity around your day, not the other way round. Here are the three formats we’re asked for most.
A short energiser between sessions
If your day’s mostly presentations and workshops, a short burst of activity after lunch keeps people awake for the afternoon. Invigorate runs for 30 or 45 minutes in the same room as your meeting, with quick-fire games and creative challenges. Office Games and our 45-minute jury games work the same way.
A half-day GPS treasure hunt
A GPS treasure hunt gets everyone outside for two hours. Teams follow checkpoints on the map in our app, answering questions, cracking puzzles and taking photo and video challenges as they go. The Ultimate is our most popular choice, and Urban Explorer adds local trivia and landmarks for the city you’re in. If the forecast turns, our weatherproof guarantee swaps you to an indoor game.
A full day, indoors and out
For a whole day together, pair a morning GPS hunt with an indoor activity after lunch. Murder on the Train turns the meeting room into a 1920s crime scene for 90 minutes, Level Up runs fast-paced team challenges in 60 or 90, and Movie Studio has teams shoot their own film with a host on site.
What’s included
Our hosts brief everyone at the start, keep things moving and wrap up with the results at the end, either on site or remotely. We can run an away day for anywhere from 8 to 750 people, in any UK city or venue, and anywhere else in the world with our UK team or one of our local Wildgoose partners. In the UK, activities start from £12 per person and GPS hunts from £15, and most add a host fee from £250. There’s no waiting around for a quote, because each activity’s page gives you an instant quote for your group size. Tell us the date, the location and the goal, and we’ll shape the day with you.
Away days we’ve run
Every year, more than 70,000 people across 23 countries take part in our team building events. Sainsbury’s took 500 suppliers and colleagues on a custom GPS hunt across London that raised £480,000 for Comic Relief. Care UK filled a two-hour gap in their away day in Reading with a murder mystery for 30 staff, all in one hotel conference room. And when a team can’t travel, a virtual away day works too. Network Career Consultants used one to bring 26 people from three companies together over Zoom. It scales down as well. The Keil Centre’s whole company played The Ultimate in Leith, Edinburgh, while their final numbers were still changing.

How far in advance should we book a corporate away day?
You can book online up to 48 hours before your away day. If you want custom content, your company branding or a date in a busy month like December, it’s worth getting in touch a few weeks ahead so we can plan it with you.
How many people can take part in a corporate away day?
We can run an away day activity for anywhere from 8 to 750 people. Everyone plays in teams of 4 to 6, so a group of 40 makes seven or eight teams competing on the same leaderboard. If you don’t have final numbers yet, you can still book and update them later.
What is a corporate away day?
It’s a day when a team leaves the office to plan, learn or just spend time together. Most away days mix work sessions with a team activity, like a GPS treasure hunt or an indoor game, to break up the agenda.
How long should a corporate away day activity last?
It depends on how much of your away day you want to give it. An energiser like Invigorate takes 30 or 45 minutes between sessions, a GPS treasure hunt takes two hours, and for a full day you can pair a morning hunt with an indoor activity like Murder on the Train or Level Up after lunch.
How much does a corporate away day cost?
Our away day activities start from £12 per person, and GPS treasure hunts start from £15 per person. Most activities add a host fee, from £250 for one of our remote hosts, while some shorter in-person games include the host with a minimum spend of £240. We run the activity, so your venue, food and travel are booked separately. Each activity’s page shows the full price for your group size.

Anywhere in the UK, and anywhere else in the world too. We run events abroad with our UK team or one of our local Wildgoose partners. GPS treasure hunts can start from your office, a park or the grounds of your venue, and our indoor activities run in a meeting room or conference suite.
