Client: Intrado
Activity: Winter Games (by Wildgoose)
Format: Virtual, delivered via the Mobile Adventures app with a Remote Host
Location: Remote, with participants joining from across the US and Canada
Event date: 27 March 2026
The Brief
Bronwyn Timmons, Accuracy Coordinator 3 at Intrado and a member of the company’s Remote Culture Committee, needed an activity that could unite a remote workforce scattered across the US, plus colleagues north of the border in Canada, for a genuine shared experience rather than just another video call.
Intrado’s American team members work from home offices in multiple states, and the Remote Culture Committee wanted something that matched the quality of team building their onsite colleagues already enjoyed. The brief needed to:
- Keep a distributed, remote workforce genuinely engaged, rather than relying on a standard video call
- Give remote colleagues the same caliber of team building experience as onsite staff
- Encourage real mingling and cooperation across a team that rarely works face-to-face
- Feel fun and social rather than another work meeting
- Build on several years of previous Wildgoose events for the same Remote Culture Committee, without the format feeling repetitive
The Solution: Winter Games
Wildgoose delivered Winter Games, a themed virtual team activity run through the Mobile Adventures app alongside a video call, giving Intrado’s team a shared leaderboard and a session run by a Remote Host.
Key delivery details:
- Date & time: Friday 27 March 2026, late morning Mountain Time
- Format: Virtual, delivered via the Mobile Adventures app with a Remote Host
- Group size: 30 participants, joining from across the US and Canada
- Content: Photo and video challenges alongside trivia rounds, with teams randomly paired across departments and seniority levels
- Customization: Delivered as a standard Wildgoose activity, with no bespoke branding or custom questions added
- Booking: The latest in a series of Wildgoose virtual activities booked by Intrado’s Remote Culture Committee since 2022
The Result
The activity was delivered as planned on 27 March 2026. Afterwards, Bronwyn shared detailed feedback on what the activity achieved for the team:
Prior to our event with Wildgoose, we were worried about keeping our remote employees engaged and providing them with the same caliber of team building opportunities as our on-site colleagues. We really wanted something that would keep everyone entertained while encouraging both mingling and cooperation. We also wanted something fun and not so ‘work’ focused. Our team absolutely loved the photo and video challenges! … The teamwork and collaboration was on fire! Everyone was laughing and having an amazing time when we got to see all the entries at the end. We found this format amazing for random pairing of employees, and having it facilitated by a Wildgoose host made it easy for everyone to participate and have fun without taking on any stress to host ourselves. We have noticed that teammates are more likely to reach out to people in other departments after meeting them during a Wildgoose activity … allowing people from all levels of the organization to meet others they may otherwise never have with us all being remote.
— Bronwyn Timmons, Accuracy Coordinator 3, Intrado
Following the activity, Bronwyn also passed Wildgoose’s in-person activity brochure on to the committee that organizes activities for Intrado’s onsite staff, with “a strong recommendation from our experience using your company for our remote team.”

Why It Worked
- Photo and video challenges gave a remote team a creative outlet, turning household items into props and giving everyone a shared laugh at the reveal
- A Remote Host ran the random team pairings and kept the session moving, so nobody on Intrado’s side had to take on hosting responsibilities themselves
- Mixing colleagues from different departments and levels of seniority broke down hierarchy in a low-stress, fun setting, an effect Intrado said outlasted the activity itself
- A trivia format let teammates from across the US share their own knowledge and personalities with Canadian colleagues joining the same call, not just compete
- A multi-year relationship with the same Remote Culture Committee meant Wildgoose could keep the format fresh rather than repeating the same activity

FAQs
Can a virtual activity really work for a team spread across different states, provinces or time zones?
Yes. The Mobile Adventures app runs the activity for every participant wherever they’re logging in from, and a Remote Host manages the briefing, pacing and wrap-up over video call, so distance across US states, or a hop over the border into Canada, doesn’t get in the way, as it didn’t for Intrado’s team. The one practical consideration is scheduling: if your group spans time zones as wide as Eastern to Pacific, or further still, it’s worth picking a slot that works reasonably for everyone, rather than, for example, asking a colleague in Hawaii to join at three in the morning their time.
Do we need to run the activity ourselves, or is a host provided?
Intrado’s activity used a Remote Host, who ran the whole session and paired teams together, so nobody on the client side had to take on hosting responsibilities. Self-managed options are also available for some of our activities, for teams who prefer to run things themselves, though if budget allows we’d strongly recommend a Remote Host. Take a look at our Trustpilot reviews and you’ll see our hosts get a regular mention.
What do participants need at home to take part?
Just a smartphone or tablet, and a laptop with a video call connection for the group. When booking with a Remote Host, Wildgoose provides the Zoom link, though we’re happy to use a different platform if that’s what your team needs internally. Photo and video challenges, like the ones Intrado’s team enjoyed, work well with everyday items people already have at home.
We’ve booked with Wildgoose before, will a repeat activity feel repetitive?
Wildgoose offers a range of virtual formats, including trivia, escape-room style challenges, scavenger hunts and themed activities. Intrado’s Remote Culture Committee has booked a different activity each time since 2022, keeping the format fresh for returning participants.
Can a virtual activity help colleagues who don’t normally work together get to know each other?
Yes. Random team pairing mixes up departments and seniority levels, giving colleagues a low-stress way to meet people they might not otherwise cross paths with, an effect Intrado noticed continuing back at work after the activity.
