The Brief

FindAUniversity first reached out to Wildgoose in 2025 to discuss an outdoor treasure hunt. Though they decided on a different path at the time, they reconnected this year to explore how our indoor experiences could bring their team of 70 together for an offsite day. Their goal was to bring some renewed energy and focus to the group ahead of a busy period.

They needed an experience that would fit perfectly into a two-hour slot right after lunch — often a tough time to keep momentum going. They were looking for something that prioritized communication and collaboration over competition, giving the team a creative outlet to encourage storytelling. With a packed afternoon agenda to follow at their chosen venue — Sheffield Hallam University, the experience needed to break the ice and bring energy levels up fast so everyone could get down to the business of collaborating.

The Solution

Wildgoose delivered Movie Studio, one of our newest indoor experiences which sees teams write, direct, and produce their own short films using the Mobile Adventures app, all with the support of an expert on-site host.

The activity started with each team being given a different set of scenes to direct and film alone. Once the filming was complete teams came back together in the meeting room to watch a rough cut of their work. When watching this back, it became clear that a lack of communication between teams had led to a very disjointed, hard to follow final film.

For the second half, our host merged the groups into larger “studios.” With a unified vision to aim for, they planned their storyboard and filming with much more focus. The experience wrapped up with a proper “premiere” screening and awards ceremony. With 70 people split into four studios, each taking a unique creative path, it turned into an entertaining, high-energy session that brought everyone together.

Movie Studio got the whole team involved in a shared creative project. Watching the four well-crafted, humorous films was the perfect cure for the post-lunch slump, leaving the group feeling refreshed and ready for their afternoon.

The Results

By choosing Movie Studio, the client was offered a unique alternative to traditional team-building. Even though it’s an indoor experience, they made the most of the Sheffield Hallam University campus as their film set. Our technology worked in the background, allowing them to capture footage on their own devices and watch it come together instantly within the Mobile Adventures app.

All the footage and final films were shared with the FindAUniversity team, as a fun reminder and memento from their team building activity.
